Vandring

The water powered corn mill stands near the River Derwent at the southern end of the Chatsworth Estate. It was last used to grind corn in 1950 and has deteriorated since then. You can see the big millstone, used for grinding the corn.

This water powered corn mill was built in 1759 and was last worked by Mr Wilfrid Johnson in 1950. The building was badly damaged in 1962; only the shell of the building, with a few fragments of machinery, including the pit wheel, survive.
