Vandring

The Ossinger railway bridge spans the Thur at a height of around 40 m. On the north side, the terrain drops steeply towards the Thur, while south of the river the bridge leads over a lower area of terrain about 200 m wide. It is one of the most important iron bridges in Switzerland.
Not recommended for those who are afraid of heights!

Cykling

Actually, the Ossinger bridge is intended only for pedestrians and train passengers. The trail leading to the bridge is very narrow on both sides. The crossing for cyclists is not officially prohibited.

The Thurbrücke Ossingen is a single-lane railway bridge on the Winterthur – Etzwilen line in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland, which crosses the Thur south of Ossingen. It is the most important lattice bridge with iron pillars still preserved in Switzerland. Height: 42 m. Longest span: 72 m
Construction: truss bridge. At 332 m, the viaduct is one of the longest truss bridges of the SBB - an important monument of ancient iron architecture
