The Pleßbach flows from Haßlinghausen through the Hammertal to the north and flows into the Ruhr at Blankenstein.
The local mining trail Pleßbachweg is named after this brook.
The Pleßbach is named after the Pleßmann farm in the lower Hammertal, through whose meadows it flowed. Eversmann calls it the Hiddinghauser Bach.
In Haßlinghausen, the stream rises 226 meters below the site of the former Germany mine.
The brook found its way to the Ruhr in a geological fault through the layers. The tributaries and Siepen buried in the soft clay layers feed the stream with their water.

And THAT also happened at Pleßbach in 2021 😮:
"The Pleßbach is not the Ruhr. But the small stream near Witten rose meters high during the heavy rain in July. One reason: the nearby A 43."
