Hiedungispuigin was first mentioned in 1113 as the property of the Melk monastery. In 1296, the castle was first mentioned in a document in connection with Otto von Ydungspiugen. The keystone of the gate bears the year 1192. It can therefore be assumed that a previous building existed before 1296. In 1585, the castle, which had been owned by Konrad von Pappenheim since 1578, came into the possession of the Barons von Kollonitsch. They gave the complex its current appearance.

Jedenspeigen Castle, which was mentioned in a document as early as 1276 and has been continuously expanded in the course of history, today houses an exhibition about the greatest knight battle in Europe between the Habsburg Rudolf and the Bohemian King Ottokar.
