During the second half of the 20th century, the first interventions to recover Salobreña Castle were carried out. Five projects were drawn up for the consolidation and restoration of the castle, which was in a total state of ruin.

Located at the top of the rocky promontory, due to its strategic location and its importance in the history of the town, it stands as a reference landmark par excellence. From its towers, the view it offers us is truly impressive: the blue sea blending into the sky on the horizon, the green plain interrupted abruptly by a mountainous amphitheater and the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada in winter.
