    Today's town hall was built in the mid-18th century after the previous buildings fell victim to the fires in 1604, 1664 and 131.
    It was started by the court architect Augustus the Strong, it was planned in the spoiled Baroch style, but after his death it was completed in 1751 in a more simple style.
