The soaring ridgeline of the Five Sisters of Kintail is one of the quintessential Highland scenes. Hikes to Sgùrr Fhuaran take you to the highest and central point of this classic ridge, a peak of simple beauty and striking symmetry. Seen from the Màm Ratagan pass above Loch Duich, it is everything a mountain peak ought to be, gorgeously pointed and alluring.

The Five Sisters of Kintail is a mountain chain on the north of Glen Shiel, and Sgurr Fhuaran sits in the centre as the highest and most impressive. A knot of ridges with a pleasingly prominent summit, Sgurr Fhuaran can be climbed on its own, but is most satisfying as the highlight of a full traverse of The Sisters.

From this Munro there are some great views down to Loch Duich. From here the ridge continues on, but from here most of the ascent is behind you.

This top has such gorgeous views that I would recommend to only go up if you can actually enjoy them. Also, do be prepared for some light scrambling on the way up. The rocks are quite slippery in wet conditions - something to be prepared for :-)
