Vandring

the parking lot is at 4,710m altitude. There are toilets ($3 soles) and stalls selling drinks, snacks and souvenirs at the parking lot. There are two more toilets ($3 and $5 soles) on the way to Rainbow mountain and Red valley. Halfway you can get your passport stamped for $3 soles. for the lazy there is also the possibility to be taken up by mule. Entry to Red Valley is an additional $20 soles. Best to arrive early in the morning. This is how you avoid the crowds of tourists.

Vandring

Slow, steady hiking is the best thing here. The oxygen content in the air drops to <50%. If you start too fast here you will regret it bitterly. NEVER sit down. Due to the altitude air, the circuit will collapse when you get up and you need oxygen cylinders to get up again. (The guides always have something with them)

The most beautiful place in Perù. Really amazing, strange and gorgeous.
Set this this place in front of you and then turn your head to left to see Ausangate glacier. It is very strange to see desert and glaciers so close. Wow!
