d’Orangemolen was built in 1734 by order of the Prince of Orange. The mill was also called the ‘dwangmolen’ (forced mill) because all farmers were obliged to have their grain milled here.

This national monument has been renovated into a unique home, preserving the original function and authentic details of the corn mill. The windmill is located at the head of the harbour of the beautiful fortified town of Willemstad and overlooks the fortress, fields and the Hollands Diep.
