It is thanks to the practice area, which was not accessible to the public, that served as a training area for the Wehrmacht from 1935/36 to 1945 and again for the Bundeswehr from 1956, that relics of the abandoned village of Rammertshof can still be found here today, the roots of which probably stem from the 10th century.
