Haus Reck is the old noble residence of the von der Recke family in the Lerche district, right on the city limits of Bergkamen. It was given the name “Haus Reck” in the middle of the 16th century. Previously it was called “Haus zur Heyde” because it is located in the “Pelkumer Heide”.
As early as 1392 it became the residence of the Lords of Recke-Heeren. For centuries they were the Drosten zu Unna and Kamen, i.e. administrators who represented the sovereign.
