The Teufelspfuhl is an artificial pond in which the spring water of the Panke has been collecting since 1934.

From here, the small river and namesake of the Berlin district of Pankow continues its way to the capital.

The Teufelspfuhl in Bernau was built in 1930 when the Stettiner Bahn was expanded. It is the remnant of the Tiefwiesenbruch, a swampy area that protected the medieval city of Bernau outside the city moat from the east and northeast. The Panke flowed through a pipe under the embankment into the Teufelspfuhl. The site is currently being renovated and converted into an approx. 19 hectare recreation park.
