From Bad Goisern you have good views of the 1,975 meter high Sarstein, the main character of this tour. The plan is to circle the mountain and to experience Styria and Upper Austria from their most beautiful side. On approximately 43 kilometers you drive along streams through romantic forests to dramatic cheesy views of mountains and lakes. Whether as a stream, a river or a lake: the water is your constant companion today. After a short, flat warm-up, it gets straight to the point and you can expect a long climb, which brings you over the initially asphalted, later gravel Leislingstraße up to over 900 meters altitude. Shortly before you reach the small town of Oberlupitsch, you will roll over the light gray gravel of impressive rock walls - mountain feeling of the very finest and just made for Gravelbike. It follows a relaxed departure in the direction of Altaussee. Here you have from a distance a great view of the lake, the same place and the Loser, the impressive mountain in the background. A trip to the village or to the lake shore is worthwhile - an excellent opportunity for a break and a small snack.Via Bad Aussee you continue to Koppental. Here you first follow the Koppenstraße, but then turn off onto a gravel road, which brings you far away from the traffic along the Koppentraun bank towards Hallstättersee. Before you go back to Bad Goisern on the Ostuferweg, it's worth stopping at the Obertraun World Heritage Site. Surrounded by the high mountains, the place offers a great backdrop for a little refreshment. From here it is not far to the cooling waters of the lake. The last kilometers are pure enjoyment: along Lake Hallstatt you will always enjoy a great view - a cooldown program, as it could not be more beautiful.

Once a year, the picture-book landscape around Bad Goisern becomes a trendy meeting place for mountain and gravel bikers: More than 5,000 bikers from over 40 nations meet here every year to compete at the Salzkammergut Trophy and around the wonderful mountains to enjoy. On this training route you can also go on a gravel adventure between Hallstatt and Gosau during the bike season! Would you like to take part in the trophy? There is all information here: dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-veranstaltung/detail/48220006/salzkammergut-mountainbike-trophy.This tour is physically demanding, but the landscape is a dream. Here you get the full load of Dachstein Salzkammergut. With the Hallstättersee, Hallstatt, the Waldbachstrub waterfalls, the Gosauer Almen and Gosausee together with the Dachstein, one highlight after the other. So there are plenty of opportunities to catch your breath, rest and enjoy. In contrast to the event, you start in the middle of Bad Goisern and head straight for Lake Hallstatt. You follow the beautiful east bank cycle path with its spectacular suspension bridge over the deepest part of Lake Hallstatt before the first glimpses of the world heritage town of Hallstatt open up. In good weather, a stop at the lido is worthwhile in Obertraun before you pass the official starting point of the Gravel competition for the Salzkammergut Trophy. Now it goes high: A long climb is waiting for you, which leads you up to the Rossalm. On the way you will pass the impressive Waldbachstrub waterfall and have the first wonderful views of the Dachstein massif. When you arrive at the alp, you can rest and replenish your energy reserves. Click here for the opening times: dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich/gastronomie/430000775/rossalm-gosau.html.A wonderful, but quite demanding descent brings you down to Lake Gosau with its majestic Dachstein glacier - undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the Salzkammergut. Time for a break and for a souvenir photo. Past sheep, cows and horses you cycle along quiet paths and later along the main road back to the starting point of the tour.

This wonderful round of gravel leads you along happily babbling brooks and through romantic forests to dramatically kitschy views of the mountains and lakes of the Salzkammergut. The beautiful nature itself is worth seeing, but two particularly impressive highlights await you on the way. This tour can easily be divided into two rounds. The first leads through the picturesque Weißenbach valley, in which the Chorinsky Klause awaits you with a special piece of cultural history. Klausen are weirs that were once built for the rafting and the transport of tree trunks. This one dates from 1819 and is the last wooden chapel in Austria. By the way, it is an excellent place for a break. Alternatively, you can stop at the Weißenbachwirt shortly before. You can look up opening times here: dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-gastronomie/detail/430007239/weissenbachwirt-bad-goisern.html.After a rushing descent, you start the second round, which leads you along the foot of the 1,183 meter high "Ewigen Wand". Its steep rock formations are spectacular, from the bike path you always have incredible views. Just be a little careful, because this is a "shared trail", in which consideration for other users is a matter of course. You are probably so impressed by the scenic beauty that you feel no need to drive fast here. After the Ewige Wand you roll through the forest to Rathlucken Hütte, where another stop is worthwhile. Then the panoramic road takes you back to Bad Goisern, where the Moserwirt is already waiting for you with his delicacies. You can find the opening times and menus of the inns here dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-gastronomie/detail/102864/rathlucken-huette.html and here dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-gastronomie/detail/101255 /gasthof-hotel-moserwirt.html.

The Gosauseen belong with the Dachsteinpanorama to the most beautiful lakes in the entire Dachstein mountains. The two lakes are bordered by the high cliffs of the Gosaukamm and from the beginning of the hike you can see the Hohe Dachstein towering at the end of the valley. This gorgeous view has also inspired countless artists, as many paintings can attest. The hike runs along the entire route on a comfortable gravel road and starts at the Vorderen Gosausee. You walk along the northern shore, from where you have the better view of the valley. Past the small Gosaulacke you soon reach the Hinterer Gosausee, which is fed by underground springs and meltwater from the Dachstein massif. After a leisurely rest at the Gasthaus Hohe Holzmeisteralm, the route goes back to the starting point.

On this hike, you come very close to the high mountains and there is hardly a better place than the Hütteneckalm to enjoy the view of the Dachstein.Although there are two short, rocky passages on the hike, it is perfect for families with brave children. The tour starts at the car park next to the Berghof Predigstuhl. On a forest road you climb up to the Rossmoosalm and follow the path into a light mountain forest. At a hut branches off the narrow Jubiläumssteig and it goes over rugged rocks and over the thinly vegetated slope to Hütteneckalm. After a long rest, the route now heads back towards Rossmoosalm. The path leads you through the rocks of a landslide. From the Rossmoosalm it goes the same way back to the starting point.

The hike up the Hohe Kalmberg is a true summit tour. Thanks to well-developed hiking trails, you can also enjoy the beautiful view on the summit as a lowland hiker. The tour starts at the trail car park Trockentann on the edge of Ramsau. Already from here you can see the Goiserer hut high up on the mountain. On a comfortable forest road, it goes through a clear whale steadily uphill and after a short serpentine section you reach the Goiserer hut. After a short rest on the cozy hut, it takes about 45 minutes to reach the summit of the high Kalmberg. From there you have a great panoramic view of the Goisertal, the Gosau Valley and the Dachstein. Then it goes back to the Goiserer hut and on the trail over the so-called knee down to Hochmuth. From there you hike back to the starting point on a comfortable way.

On top of the Krippenstein you have a phenomenal view of the Dachstein massif, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Thanks to the Dachstein cable car, you can set the 1,600 vertical meters back from Obertraun at lightning speed and enjoy the view up here in peace and quiet. From the mountain station it is only a short distance to the Krippenstein, where you will find the panorama platform of the Weltterbespirale. A little further along the path you come to the 5Fingers viewing platform with the World Heritage view of Lake Hallstatt. But this platform is not for the faint-hearted and only for giddiness-free hikers: Like an outstretched hand the 5Fingers protrude over the abyss and from the fingertips you have a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley and the surrounding mountains. If you've seen enough of the panorama, it's back to the cable car and down to Obertraun. Of course, if you like, you can also join the circular hike to Heilbronner Kreuz.Prices and departure times of the cable car can be found at dachstein-salzkammergut.com/de

The picturesque Echerntal with the roaring Waldbach, the steep cliffs and the picturesque Hallstatt was a special attraction for landscape painters. This theme trail leads you from the small town of Hallstatt up to the Waldbachfall. Along the way you will find numerous information boards, on which the paintings of the famous painters are displayed. The tour starts at the parking lot 2 of the Salzbergbahn and leads on quiet paths through the historic settlement of the Echerntals. Soon after, you will slowly rise and have a look at an important natural monument: the glacier garden has been sanded by glacier water over the past 12,000 years. Numerous glacier pots have formed in which water collects after heavy rains.Even before you reach the forest creek, one of the most beautiful vantage points awaits you at the world heritage site Hallstatt. The valley opens up below you and gives you a view of the small town and the blue lake. After a short, last climb you reach the forest stream, which flows here in a narrow ravine in waterfalls in the direction of the valley. The hiking trail leads you down the roaring waters and finally you walk across the green meadows back to the starting point.
