Due to a detour, the 12-Weiher-Weg became the 9-Weiher-Weg. And we didn't make the detour up to the Haldenkreuz either, probably overlooked the turn-off.
But at least we didn't miss the turnoff to the left at KM 5.1, although the tree to which the sign was once attached has been felled and the sign is lying on the tree stump. …

Easy to walk, no trail markings - have to navigate with a map. Lots of opportunities to take a break, entertaining route through the ponds. Unfortunately you can hear the adjacent motorway the whole way.

Our tip! Pay attention to the diversion signs, this is definitely the nicer way. Unfortunately we missed it and had to go through the large construction site 😕

30 Eylül 2021,Der 12 Weiher Rundweg in Neunkirchen - Heinitz/Dechen führt durch das Weilerbachthal, Biesenthal, Holzhauerthal und über den Riedberg.

An early morning hike today. Landscape shaped by mining, surrounded by over 15 ponds that were used to cool the steam engines and compressors, among other things. Enjoy the beautiful forests and meadows in the "Landscape of Industrial Culture North" project.

A great tour in beautiful winter weather and glorious sunshine. Past several small and large ponds and over a footbridge through the Heinitz biotope. Highly recommended.
