The Preuss Hut, built in 1913, is located at the summit of the Porte Neigre, in the heart of the rose garden and at the foot of the famous Vajolet towers; it is a popular destination for numerous excursions and climbing tours of varying levels of difficulty.
It was built by the famous mountain guide Tita Piaz and dedicated to Paul Preuss, an equally famous mountaineer from the early 1920s and pioneer of free climbing. The shelter is still run by the Piaz family today.
