Branddirekttor Erich Tiedt was instrumental in the construction of the 1st Prussian fire school and the recreation home in the castle Bahrensdorf in Beeskow involved. To commemorate his work, a memorial stone was erected on the grounds of the castle in 1930 (a year after his death). This had to give way to construction in 1983, was re-erected in 1994 and implemented in 2006 on the grounds of the provincial fire school. On the initiative of a local association, a copy of the memorial stone was erected in 2008 at the present location.

This current memorial stone is located on the road between Beeskow and Kummerow in front of the premises of the TÜV Academy (the former Bahrensdorf Castle).
