If you drive from Krabbendam via the Westfriese Omringdijk to Eenigenburg, you will notice something special. At the sharp bend in the dike, a tall, newly built tower rises from the Lower West Frisian countryside. Exactly at this point was in the 13th century, the Fortress' t Huys in Nuwendore (Nieuwendoorn). The province of Noord-Holland had a part of the castle rebuilt. You can visit the site and climb the tower - here you can imagine yourself as lord of the castle overlooking the landscape.
