In front of the Riddarhuset stands the statue of King Gustav Wasa, which was created in 1773 and is considered Sweden's first public monument. On the square in front of the Riddarhuset, the murderer of Gustav III. beheaded.

Riddarhuset (Knights' House) was built in the middle of the 17th century. built as a meeting house of the Swedish nobility.
Inside, the large hall is filled with densely packed small aristocratic coat of arms.
In the most exclusive social club of the Swedish nobility various cultural events take place and every 3 years since 1869, the Swedish nobility meet here for a gathering.

The Riddarhuset is largely built in the style of Dutch classicism. There are interesting interiors from the 17th century and an elaborate staircase. The knight's house used to be the Swedish equivalent of the English upper house.
Today the building is Sweden's most exclusive social club and belongs to the approximately two thousand noble families, whose coats of arms are painted on metal shields and are hung on the walls of the large hall. Festivals, concerts and similar events take place here.
