Rhede Castle originated as a knight's estate. The property is privately owned and surrounded by a large English landscape garden. However, this garden is not open to the public.

The Rhede Castle (also called Rhede House) in the city of the same name in North Rhine-Westphalia can look back on a long tradition. The two-wing moated castle was built in its present form in 1564 by Lubbert von Rhemen, but dates back to a castle complex from the 13th century.
