The Holy Spirit Church is located in Wolterdingen, a district of Soltau.
According to the tradition of the Stade general superintendent Johann Hinrich Pratje from 1774, the church was founded by the Lindhorst family as early as 1245. It is dedicated to the Holy Spirit and was an independent patron church. According to Pastor Asmus, Wolterdingen pastor from 1947 to 1974, however, the foundation can be traced back to the noble Schlepegrel family.

According to biblical tradition, it is expected that Jesus Christ will come from the east, where the sun rises, to judge and bring salvation.

Well, if you think of Mecca, which is in the east. Why Muslims orient their prayer rugs and mosques towards the east.
Who copied from whom is uncertain and cannot be proven. A question of belief and ignorance 😉

The old Heath Church in Soltau, peacefully located in the middle of the village, is a single-nave, Gothic brick building that was first mentioned in a document in 1396. The free-standing wooden bell tower carries very old bells (the oldest from c. 1350). Around 1925, the nave was extended to the north with a late Art Nouveau extension. A thorough renovation and restoration was carried out between 1998 and 2001. The remains of Gothic wall paintings were uncovered.
