The neo-Gothic church was built from 1869 to 1888 according to plans by the cathedral builder Otto Schirmer.

The Roman Catholic parish church dedicated to the Holy Redeemer – incorporated into the Kremsmünster Monastery – belongs to the Kremsmünster Deanery in the Linz Diocese.

The neo-Gothic parish church was built between 1869 and 1888 by the Linz cathedral architect Otto Schirmer and, with its 60-meter-high tower, is one of the most beautiful neo-Gothic buildings in Upper Austria. The church was renovated between 1985 and 1988 because the inadequately founded tower was in danger of collapsing.
