The listed observation tower in the violin wood was built by Duke Alexander von Württemberg on the occasion of the peace with France in 1870-71, with a line of sight to Fantaisie Castle. There is an inscription on the tower: "In memory of the glorious peace after the victorious battles of the German army in the memorable years 1870/1871". (Regarding the victory against France in 1870/1871).
Unfortunately the tower is not (anymore) open, as Susanne says. (Status: 03/2020)

Beautiful listed observation tower. Was built by Duke Alexander von Württemberg on the occasion of the peace with France in 1870-71, unfortunately closed today.

Filthy freaks let off steam at the tower and left useless graffiti.
