The steep coast as well as the whole peninsula Holnis are "remnants" of the last ice age and result of the tectonic deformations of that time. The largest part of the peninsula is under nature protection, which u.a. means that there are certain restrictions and that some sections (such as the area around the cliff) can not be entered. This, however, does not detract from the joy and amazement that nature lovers will surely encounter when undertaking a hike on the peninsula. :)

Beautiful in every season. On top of the cliff is a picnic bench. Here you have a great view of the inner fjord and the Danish shore. The Holnis cliff and the underlying beach sections are protected and may not be entered except on the hiking trail.
