Grein was the last station before the dangerous Danube valley, the narrow Strudengau.
Here the mighty, historic Danube flow connects with the primeval, gentle hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel.

"The pearl of the Strudengau" is called the Danube town Grein by poets. The medieval city has retained its charm to this day. On a stroll through the town, you can discover the architecture for yourself, which was shaped by Italian builders. You will also find a good selection of restaurants and inns.
