National border Austria and Switzerland, formerly popular smuggling route, even 20 years ago, there was the rumor that backpacks would be controlled by border guards. Today, Samnaun makes extensive advertising for duty-free shopping.
On the Idjoch you also switch between the ski areas around the Idalpe and Alp Trida on the Swiss side. As the storm approaches, panels warn that you should quickly make your way over the yoke to your own side so you do not get stuck.

Unfortunately, there is no rumor with the customs officials, because I myself had several times the enjoyment of customs control. Once I had to pay 65 € inch - that was about 2008.
I had slightly exceeded the level of the export frontier.
