Grasborn refers to an (early) medieval, very lonely village that fell desolate at the latest in the Thirty Years' War, but probably much earlier. The foundations of the old church, which was located quite far outside the settlement at the time, are now under dense vegetation. A very beautiful and large memorial stone reminds of the church and thus also of the settlement. From the refuge at the large crossroads it is about 100m along the trail to the memorial stone - it is best to walk the piece.

A little off the road is the place where, according to the memorial stone, the church of the village of Grasborn, which was destroyed in the Thirty Years War, stood. You cannot see any remains, they are said to have been used for road construction around 1900. Grasborn is one of several deserted villages in Solling. There is a beautiful shelter next door, even with a sandstone floor and a table.
