The church stands at the south-west corner of the largest marketplace in Germany. Because of this location, the church was built with the peculiarity of two church ships, which are perpendicular to each other. The sanctuary at the intersection of both parts of the building is thus freely visible from each of the 1000 seats.

The angle-hook-shaped town church with its two towers gives Freudenstadt's city skyline its special appearance and can be seen from afar. It is located in the southwest corner of the market square.
The Protestant church was built between 1601 and 1608 and has various stylistic elements. The Romanesque lectern, the baptismal font and a very special Gothic crucifix are worth seeing inside.
