A nice view of both adjoining valleys. The north side is extremely difficult to walk on. The receding glacier leaves a very slippery surface. It is best to descend on the remains of the snow.

In serpentines, the steep ascent via block fields to the Scharte. Even in summer, there may still be a lot of snow, good footwear and sure-footedness are prerequisites for the ascent. Partly the paths are secured with wire ropes. From the Zischgenscharte you can climb up to the beautiful Schöntalspitze, where a breathtaking view awaits you.

In order to climb the notch from the side of the Pforzheimer Hütte arm strength is required, there is a 20m rope hanging on which you can shimmy up, followed by another 20m wire rope (gloves can be helpful here). The descent towards Westfalenhaus is a stony field of scree, everything quite loose in summer. All in all a very nice climbing insert. The ascent to the Schöntalspitze is a great addition with 20 minutes.
