In 1467 Brother Klaus settled here, not far from his previous house, where he left his wife and children. Here he lived as a hermit for 20 years until his death. The cell should correspond as far as possible to the original from 1468 in terms of material and shape.

The Ranft has been a place of peace and quiet for centuries. Two beautiful chapels stand here on the slope of the valley that the Great Melchaa created. On a wooden bridge you cross the babbling mountain stream. The hermitage of Brother Klaus, who spent the last years of his life there to devote himself entirely to God, is attached to the Upper Ranft Chapel.
