    Edison and Ford Winter Estates
    The Edison and Ford Winter Estates host a historic museum and 8.5-acre botanical garden adjacent to the winterhouses of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford on the Caloosahatchee River in southwest Florida.

    On April 18, 2012, the Florida Chapter of the American Institute of Architects added the Edison and Ford Winter Estates to the Florida Architecture: 100 Years list. 100 seats. The American Chemical Society has recognized the Edison Botanical Research Laboratory at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates on May 25, 2014 as a National Historic Chemical Landmark.

    It is very interesting to visit the workshop and home/estate of Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, among other things.
    A beautiful garden and very well preserved typical southern houses with lovely porches. Next door, the house of Henry Ford, Edison's friend.
    Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Edison Ford Winter Estates. The exhibition and the laboratories offer a wonderful insight into the life and work of the two extraordinary people Edison and Ford. The audio tour is also available in German.

    In 1988, the adjacent Henry Ford Winter Estate was purchased and opened in 1990 for public viewing. In 2003, the management of the site was transferred from the city to a new charitable company, Thomas Edison & Henry Ford Winter Estates, Inc. (dba Edison & Ford Winter Estates, Inc.). The new company has successfully completed a $ 14 million restoration project in the following years.
