Since 1987 the parish “St. Joseph" Linde was initially involved in the Lindlar pastoral care area and later in the Lindlar parish association. The affiliation with the Wipperfürth deanery has not changed over the years. The history of the parish facilities testifies to the spirit of faith of the residents.

"Linde, today a district of Lindlar, was first documented in 1413 as Linden in a treasury register for the Lindlar manorial estate.
The Catholic church was built in 1869 according to plans by the Cologne architect and diocesan master builder Vincenz Statz. The parish of "St. Joseph" Linde is one of the younger parishes in the Lindlar region. It was not until 1889 that the parish of Linde was elevated to an independent parish. During this period, Linde belonged to the parish of Lindlar as a rectory parish.
