Very nice castle easy access by hiking and cycling from Askersund. In the summer months also with the MS Wetterwieck as a ship excursion from Askersund attainable.

The castle Stjersund (sometimes also "Stjärnsund" written) is located south of Askersund in the Örebro region. The castle is located on a peninsula that connects the Vättern with the Alsen lake.
Stjernsund Castle was built in the early 19th century in a classical style. The decor is very well preserved and dates back to the middle of the 19th century.
Guided tours of the castle are offered several times a day from mid-May to the end of August. They are included in the entrance fee.
From mid-April to mid-September, a castle café has also opened.
