The theater, built on a slope west of the city level, features an underground stage and orchestra. The cavea (audience seating) was uncovered during the museum's rescue excavation. The theater currently seats 1,000 spectators.

The theater there is actually located inside the Medieval Simena Castle, seating only 300 people.
