A small triangular cave on Iceland's south coast, tucked away off the road to Dyrhólaey. A perfect natural setting for viewing the cliffs, the lighthouse, and the black sand beach, almost always uncrowded.
It's just a five-minute climb from the parking lot, but it can be muddy or slippery. Inside, you're protected from the wind and the views are picture-postcard. Ideal for sunset photos... and for feeling like you've discovered one of those hidden corners that most people overlook.

This cave, now a secret viewpoint on Dyrhólaey, was once a gathering place for farmers from Vík í Mýrdal. Oral tradition tells of its use as a hiding place for outlaws seeking refuge after committing crimes. It bears no ancient inscriptions or symbols, but its tranquil atmosphere and natural setting overlooking the sea lend it an air of mystery.
