Unfortunately, the city wall is not quite preserved, but parts are still there in the winding streets that extend from the marketplace in all directions. Unfortunately, this is not as walkable in Rothenburg ob da Tauber or Dinkelsbühl. But this does not matter and offers with the passageways a great transition to the Max-Reger-Park always invites you to linger. In the middle of the park is the so-called "Woodstock", a meadow hill which is used by young and old. Since I was in my youth after school (secondary school opposite).

A document from 1347 records the instruction of Emperor Charles IV that the burgraves of Nuremberg should improve, build and fortify the Floß and Parkstein fortresses as well as the market town of Weiden. It was at this point at the latest that Weiden in the Upper Palatinate received its first wall, but it is possible that an existing city wall was raised and reinforced by the addition of towers. Parts of the city wall are still there.
