As the priest of the church told me, the upper floor of the tower housed the pigeons, the middle floor housed the chickens, and the lower floor housed the geese.

An architectural highlight! The lower section served as housing for poultry such as chickens, ducks, geese, and possibly exotic ornamental birds (e.g., mandarin ducks or peacocks). The upper structure on the roof functioned as a dovecote (pigeon house). More recently, it has been restored and now partially houses a small museum (e.g., the "Cinderella Museum") that provides information about the history of pigeon keeping.
