The former hospital was still run by women in the 16th century, who were dedicated to washing the dead and caring for the sick. As early as the 17th century, however, the site was largely decaying and only narrowly escaped demolition, as the material gain was estimated to be too small. When the last buildings of the hospital finally disappeared, the remaining chapel was used as a concert hall and museum. Unfortunately, the chapel is currently empty and cannot be entered.

The old hospital church St. Georg is located in the north of the city. At almost 700 years old, it is one of the oldest sacred buildings in the city and looks back on an eventful past. The former hospital was probably built due to an ongoing plague epidemic. For this purpose, a cemetery was set up around the church, which later became a military cemetery in the 18th and 19th centuries, but which can no longer be seen today.
