There is no more climbing here. Also no breathtaking views of the Rhine Valley and refreshments today 🥵 Grounds were completely cordoned off. A transparent sparkling wine factory is to be built here by 2023.

The Hallgarter pliers are always worth a trip. For hiking and climbing, here you have a magnificent view over the Rhine Valley from Mainz over the Rhine-Hessian Nahe Valley to Donnersberg in several places.

Located above the district of Hallgarten (part of Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau).

Located in the Rheingau Mountains (western Taunus).

Altitude: Approx. 580 m above sea level → one of the highest points in the Rheingau.

Viewpoint: From the Hallgartener Zange (Hallgarten Pincer), you have a magnificent panoramic view – on a clear day, all the way to the Rhine, the Rheingau, and deep into the Taunus.

Forest area: Surrounded by the dense Rheingau hinterland forest.

Hiking hub: Several well-known hiking trails converge here, including the Rheingauer Klostersteig, the Rheinsteig (various trails), and the Rheingauer Gebück hiking trail.
