There is nowhere high in the Kaiserstuhl, but almost all the routes have it all. The Texas Pass is better crossed from Oberbergen to Kiechlinsbergen, the eastern approach provides more views, the west ramp leads almost completely through forest. Only in summer, when the South Baden summer puts the eponymous "Texas heat" over the Kaiserstuhl, the cool forest may be more attractive for the climb.

The Texas Pass is the connection between the two Kaiserstuhlorte Oberbergen and Kiechlinsbergen. He is best known for the regional tour that takes place every year in August in the border triangle. The final stage always leads on a circular route through the Kaiserstuhl, whereby the Texas Pass has to be climbed several times.
The pass has also only been called Texas Pass since it was included in the Regio Tour, because of its serpentines. Its real name is Alemannic in origin and reads "On the corner".
