The Panther Trailhead is located near the the spot where Panther and Apple creeks flow into the North Umpqua River. This area is renowned as an excellent fishing spot due to the deep pools that have formed here.
Apple Creek Campground is just across the bridge and offers 7 first come first served campsites. It's also a good spot to have a rest and enjoy the cool water on a hot day.
