Point State Park Fountain – A lovely place to linger. Plenty of greenery, and on warm days, you can dip your feet in the water. Everything is very well maintained.

Point State Park Fountain - Pittsburgh has a great skyline to look at, and this spot is particularly beautiful. The fountain is illuminated with different colors, which looks really cool, especially in the evening and at night. Here, among other great places, you should definitely have been as a Pittsburgh visitor! My conclusion: Highly recommended!

Mile ~150 of the GAP at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers: starting point for and eastbound GAP trip, or end point for westbound. Visit the museum in the park located in the old fort.

You can explore sections of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, which offers 37 miles of pedestrian trails along Pittsburgh's riversides. For a pleasant loop, consider cycling or walking a portion of the GAP eastbound and then returning, enjoying views of the city skyline and river confluence. The park itself has ADA-accessible paved promenades perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Within the park, you can see the outlines of the original Fort Duquesne (French) and Fort Pitt (British), which played crucial roles in the French and Indian War. The Fort Pitt Blockhouse, built in 1764, is the oldest authenticated structure west of the Allegheny Mountains and is still standing. The Fort Pitt Museum also details the region's history.
