Nordic walking

Even the Celts made their sacrifices here. Over time, the Celtic fortification became a Christian church, which, despite its many additions and conversions, has never completely lost its military function. The unusually thick walls for a church of this size and the windows like embrasures testify to this. The oldest bell dates from the middle of the 11th century. Frescoes from the early Middle Ages have been preserved in the interior. That is why the church is popularly called "bonte Kerk". The different architectural styles range from Romanesque to Gothic. The church is administered by the evangelical community Müllenbach.

The history of the fortified church in Müllenbach dates back to the 11th century. There is evidence that the area of the municipality of Marienheide was evangelised by monks from the St. Severinsstift in Cologne from about 1050. This church - one of the five "bonten Kerken" in Oberberg - is a place of worship and an irreplaceable cultural heritage.
