Take your time and admire the historic town center. It is fascinating with its beautiful half-timbered houses and the Ahr spring, which is located in the middle of the town.

Cozy old village that has kept its character. Definitely worth a visit. Just stroll from the source of the Ahr through the alleys and discover something beautiful on every corner.

Blankenheim Castle was founded by the Lords of Blankenheim and was first mentioned in 1273 (Herzog 1989, p. 158). It was built as a section castle from quarry stone and was partially protected by a ditch and by the steep slope. It consists of a main castle and a lower castle. A rose garden followed. The hall forms the oldest part of the castle and is still well preserved today.
