Start and end for a city tour through the historic old town. There are enough cafes for short breaks. From the Spiegelberg there is a great view of the whole scene. The different impressions due to the tides are also interesting. At low tide, some of the ships lie on mud.
A modern district on one side and the historic center of the city on the other. If you want, you can take a walk around the city from here along the moat and the old fortifications.
Recommendation: take part in a city tour.

It was originally a tidal port, i. H. connected to the Elbe and its tides via the lower reaches of the Schwinge. As a result of the great storm surge in February 1962, which submerged the north of Stade's old town, it has been separated from the tidal water by a weir and a road over it since 1968 (Wikipedia).
