Mašun (1025 m above sea level) is a hamlet (and road pass) on the northwestern part of the Snežnik mountain plateau. It is surrounded by vast forests and represents the junction of road connections between the municipalities of Cerknica, Ilirska Bistrica, Pivka and Loška dolina. There is a 1,700-meter-long forest learning trail nearby, and the Ciglarjeva pot, as the Slovenian part of the European footpath E-6 is called, runs along it. The area of Mašun is protected by the state as a landscape park.

The guesthouse is famous for its hunting cuisine, but they also prepare other dishes. There are a number of sports and other activities available in the area. You can also spend the night there.
