The Central Stadium at the Sportforum once stood here - a prestige object of the young GDR. Built on war rubble in the 1950s, it had a capacity of an incredible 100,000 people. In 2000, the dilapidated stadium was demolished, only the entrance portal and the main building remain. Behind it is the new Red Bull Arena with around 47,000 seats.
