Salt has been extracted here by hand since 1967. The only technical aids are a drying oven, a salt mill and two packing machines. Since it is hardly possible to win salt in winter - the rain would dilute the brine - production takes place almost exclusively in summer. The result is a pure sea salt obtained from Atlantic water.

Salt has been mined at the southern tip of the island since 1967. The salt sold under the name “Sal Teneguia” is exposed to fierce competition. Unfortunately, the company is on shaky financial ground.
The salt is produced by hand. The only resources are a drying oven, a salt mill and two packaging machines. Production takes place almost exclusively in the summer months; in winter the brine is watered down too much by precipitation. The product can be purchased in the small souvenir shop upstairs.
