The Achensee is a beautifully situated lake between the Karwendel and Rofan mountains in the west and the Brandenberg Alps in the east. It is the largest lake in Tyrol and up to 133 m deep.
Around the lake there are numerous opportunities for sports in summer as well as in winter: bathing and water sports, shipping, cycling and biking opportunities on comfortable flat tours to challenging trails in the mountains, beautiful mountain tours and climbing routes in the Rofan mountains, cross-country skiing and skiing - just to name a few.
