    One of the highlights on the Hermannsweg through the Teutoburg Forest is definitely the imposing Externsteine. They are among the most important natural and cultural monuments in the entire Teutoburg Forest. But myths and legends also haunt the Externsteine. If you are not afraid of heights, you can also climb the five rocks and enjoy a wide panoramic view.

    The most popular excursion destinations in the region are the Externsteine, a 40 meter high rock formation, THE natural and cultural monument in the 'Land of Hermann', as marketing experts call the Lipperland. The 'Stonehenge of Germany' today mainly attracts tourists, day trippers and hikers. Once a year, at the summer solstice, the esotericists come: inside, because they consider the Externsteine to be a magical place of power.
