The history of the castle goes back to the 12th century. After von Velen took possession of the castle, it was expanded into a Renaissance-style castle from 1643. After the Second World War the remains were restored. Regardless, it's just a great destination and definitely worth a little detour from the route. The castle park invites you to linger and stroll.

Four paths lead through the Tiergarten of Schloss Raesfeld. The paths bypass picturesque lakes and forest areas. There is hardly a park that offers a more beautiful nature experience. With its plants and lakes, the park radiates a special charm in every season.
